Most anyone who has ever spent more than five minutes with could probably tell you that I’m full of useless information. Well, sometimes there’s useful stuff in that brain of mine, but overall there’s a lot of random junk.

I’ve decided to compile a ton of random facts. It likely won’t serve much purpose for anything educational but you might also find something interesting contained here. So, here it is…

Did you know that the song ‘Love Shack’ by The B-52’s was inspired by a cabin one of the chicks in the band lived in? It was off the Atlanta Highway just outside of Athens, Georgia. That’s where the line “I’m headed down the Atlanta Highway” came from.

Did you know that cabin stood there for many years but burned down a few years ago?

Did you know that Paul Whibley’s 2009 GNCC Championship was the first and only so far for Kawasaki?

Did you know that until Josh Strang’s 2010 GNCC Championship, Rodney Smith was the only person to claim a championship on a Suzuki?

Did you know that Duane Allman died in a motorcycle crash in Macon, Georgia? In the late 90’s the state named a stretch of highway ‘The Duane Allman Memorial Highway’

Did you know that Jimmy Jarrett won his first GNCC race at the John Penton in 2000, and his second at Unadilla in 2010? Yes, 10 years apart.

Did you know that The East River Mountain Tunnel connecting Virginia and West Virginia on I-77 is one of only two tunnels in the country that you will cross state lines while inside the tunnel?

Did you know that The Marshall Tucker Band is from Spartanburg, South Carolina?

Did you know that The Big Buck GNCC, Brown Jug NCHSA and SETRA Little Brown Jug Hare Scramble events are all within 15 minutes of each other?

Did you know that the site of the Brown Jug NCHSA event is the former site of the SETRA Little Brown Jug event? Wait, that’s a given.

Did you know that they used over 300 Dodge Chargers throughout the filming of The Dukes of Hazzard?

Did you know that Burt Reynolds went to Florida State on a scholarship to play football?

Did you know that I once cut down a tree with a pocket knife? True story.

Did you know that Randy Quaid has been in something like 100 movies?

Did you know that I created the GNCC Wikipedia page?

Did you know that  Loretta Lynn’s is the longest running current GNCC since its first race in 1985?

Did you know that Chuck Norris’ real name is Carlos?

Did you know that his parents probably said “Not at the table Carlos!” at least once?

Did you know that I-90 is the longest interstate in the US?

Did you know that a bear does crap in the woods?

Did you know that if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it, it still makes a noise? Except nobody would hear it.

Did you know that Bob Marley had 11 kids?

Did you know that there are exactly 100 counties in North Carolina?

Did you know that they filmed that stupid live action Super Mario Brothers movie in North Carolina? What a waste.

Did you know that they also filmed Talladega Nights in North Carolina as well? I guess that makes up for the Mario movie.

Did you know that the train that crashed into the bus in The Fugitive is still sitting off the side of the road in Dillsboro, North Carolina?

Did you know that US Highway 64 runs from Nags Head, North Carolina to Ducktown Tennessee? That’s the entire length of NC.

Did you know that if you’ve read all of these, you may have learned something, or just felt dumber.
